Professor Geuns (KU Leuven - European Stevia Center) liet via één van m’n contacten weten dat Coca Cola voortaan stevioside zal gebruiken in Cola Light i.p.v. aspartaam. Natuurlijk enkel in landen waar deze zoetstof toegelaten is. Hier is stevia nog steeds verboden dankzij het ‘adviesorgaan’ EFSA (Europees voedselagentschap). Deze doorbraak zal het EFSA ongetwijfeld dwingen tot inkeer. After having reviewed two study’s done by the European Ramazzini Foundation about the carcinogenicity of aspartame in rats, I am very concerned about the possible carcinogenicity in humans. The news has been spread that the Coca-Cola Company will stop using aspartame in it’s Cola Light product and will use stevia instead, all over the world, where law grants its use. As an European citizen, I demand to have the freedom of choosing softdrinks containing stevia like many other citizens in other regions have this very same right. Today, an European citizen is prohibited from buying stevia-containing foodproducts.
